Labrador

Hoping one day to be able to take a trip to Newfoundland and Labrador. But after seeing the following, I would have to make special equipment purchases

I'm going to be in Newfoundland (but not Labrador) this June. I hope all that snow is gone by then. We plan to ride up to the north end of NF which is just a few miles from Labrador across the water.

Well thats why I'm going during the last week of July or sometime in August.

If you haven't heard, the highway from Cartwright to Blanc Sablon is now open.

That means that the ferry from Happy Valley/Goose Bay no longer runs to Lewisporte, Nfld. Instead it runs from Happy Valley/Goose Bay to Cartwright; a 12 hour instead of a 36 hour ferry ride.

Then a ninety minute ferry runs from Blanc Sablon to St. Barbe, Nfld.

Now this is snow...a good 15 feet of it...on the 24th of June!
