Have a 99 1100GS without Quick Disconnects and I would like to fit some. Can anyone recommend a quality aftermarket type?
Thanks

Post#6 has the company details where I got mine from. Customsarge posted the part numbers a while back .
These are metal couplers and are of very high quality too. Not cheap but worth every penny.
You can buy the plastic ones like the bike came with from various supply stores like Aerostitch I think, and this place http://www.rockymountainatv.com/search.do
A lot has to do with how often you take the tank on and off or even the fuel lines to fill up camping fuel bottles etc. And don't forget to use a little rubber grease on the seals inside to make it easier and less likelihood of tearing the o-ring.

I got mine from McMaster Carr. They sell the same brand that BMW puts on my R1200CLC for half the price.

I've got a 99 1100GS too & these are the quick connects from Omega that I put on mine. Be sure & specify "viton" o-rings instead of the buna ones as they stand up to gasoline better. Makes removing the tank so much easier.

Mike,
What part number did you use from Mc Master Carr?
What material in the body and seal made from?

Can you tell us the part #'s & what they cost? Did you use them on 5/16" fuel line? Those look really nice. I might have to try them.

They are a little long and expensive but the BMW of quick disconnects is Swagelok. They make a DESO version (double ended shut off) for when you disconnect the lines. they are rugged and will last forever, but a set will run you close to $100.00

I just ordered the new disconnects fron Anglecity and they were $111 shipped including clamps. Mine were funky last weekend so I bit the bullet, great folks to deal with.

they are a bmw shop and know the exact size, just give them a shout. the QD's are so sharp looking it's a shame they can't be seen under the tupperware.
