What happens to a BMW when it is totaled?
Does the dealer, insurance company, or state automatically put a salvage title on it? When a dealer totals out a bike, do they put it on equifax, or something similar so another BMW/customer will know the bike has been in a serious accident?
Are these bikes rebuilt and sold as good bikes with the orginal title? You might see a BMW a month on the websites for sale with a rebuilt title. I know lay downs that do a lot of cosmetic damage, but nothing structural, or an insurance company that doesn't want the liability of a cosmetically damaged bike that may have structural damage to the suspension. The cost of repairs, labor, etc may be greater than the bike is worth, causing the bike to be totalled.
What about the bikes that are really wadded? Where are the BMW junkyards?
