After I hit a deer this last Summer, I was able to get everything all fixed up, broken parts replaced and/or repainted etc. The fairing frame (front) was bent and we were able to straighten it out somewhat but not perfect. This resulted in a tremendous amount of flexing, bending, exertion to remount the side panels and now I notice it seems to be noticeably crooked (to me) but the casual observer would not notice it at all. Luckily I found a brand new replacement frame on Ebay for $180 (regular cost is $400+) which is now sitting in my garage. I am waiting for a little warmer weather to work on it and am also a little squeamish about taking the bike all apart again, especially completely removing the old bent frame. I just wondered if anyone else has done this project and if youwould help me avoid any pitfalls. :kiss I've found that it helps to avoid stupid mistakes on my part if I first learn of stupid mistakes that others have made before me!:banghead

Take pictures with a digital camera as you take it apart for reference.

Absolutely. Take pictures of where the wiring harness goes around the different parts of the subframe, and where the zip-ties are. Take more than you think you will need, and from angles you'd never think will be helpful. Believe me, you'll want them.

If you lose your pix I'll send you the ones I keep...

Thanks Anton and Dave! I do have tremendous digital capacity and will take lots of photos. I should have learned this from previous experience.:doh
