Hello,

Does anyone know if a BMW luggage rack off a 1986 R65 can be fitted to (or made to fit) a 1978 R80/7??

I have the R65 at home in Canada, just bought the R80/7 in California, and would like to take a trip (with luggage!) in about 14 days.

No dealer seems to have a rack that would fit this R80 at this time, or for delivery before my start date.

Otherwise I'll order and wait. I have Hepco Becker bags (as well as the original hard cases if I need to stick with them).

I can't get a Hepco Becker rack in California until mid-Feb.

Thank you,

Bryce

Anything can be "made to fit." All you need is a drill, a grinder, a torch , a welder, and some steel stock and hardware. I have a very nice Reynolds rack for one of my Long Wheel Base /5's that conflicts with the Krauser racks for the side cases. I could use a grinder to erase the interference, but I'm holding out for a rack that needs less modification.

And a big hammer!
