Can't help you on the Utah maps Slade, but just wanted to say welcome to the forum. Some of the other folks here will probably give you some great info about that part of the country. Ironhorsecowboy--Tennessee

Utah is one heckuva great state for riding and for touring.

The southern part of the state is loaded with National Parks and Monuments that are simply eye popping, and great roads to ride between them on. There's also the Red Rocks rally in Panguitch, in June I believe. It does get pretty warm in July and August.

Most of the Lolo Pass road is in Idaho (Helena, MT to Lewiston, ID, which would be a great route to the MOA National in Spokane). That's the one with the sign that says twisty road, next 77 miles. Another fine road is the one from Stanley to Salmon.

Maps:
I'm newly fond of the Benchmark Maps.
http://www.benchmarkmaps.com

Roads:
Where to start?
1. 12 up through Grand Escalante is NOT to be missed.

2. 72 down to Loa is, as Bryan Lally once called it, "Sweeper Madness".

3. 261 up from Mexican Hat has one of the more memorable vistas (and a bit of gravel)

4. 163 through Monument Valley is, pardon the pun, monumental

5. 14 from Long Valley Junction to Cedar City is great high country.

6. lots more. but that's a start. :)

Thank-you for the tips on Utah. We looked them up in the atlas and they look pretty good! the map web site is great also.

Try to pick up a Delorme Gazeteer map. They are pretty good for finding little back roads on. Welcome to the forum!

They are good, but, IMHO, hard to read. Lots of little red lines going all over the place wihout much differentiation. That's why I bought the Benchmark Atlas. It's got nearly as much detail, but is MUCH easier to read. I only wish they made atlases for more than a handful of western states.

Being from New Mexico, the Indian Country Map (http://www.globecorner.com/t/t16/8137.php) is a must. If you're a AAA member, you can pick one up for free. If not, you can get one from the link (and most other map outlets) for $3.95.
There's just too many good roads in Utah to list!
(Knary made a good start, though) Your bike isn't in your sig, if you ride a GS or an F, you can double the amount. Tons of good Dual-Sport roads in the area as well.
