There is not contract for NRPS. We've contacted several groups for entertainment, but no contracts have been signed. Not sure why they have it listed on their webpage.

This is the ultimate band for this venue, the ultimate theme to attract in the membership to Gillette, New Riders of the Pruple Sage...

My vote says BOOK EM!

I know I don't have a vote, so I respectfully put in a huge PLEASE!

Getting a quality act such as the NRPS would take the bullets out of the guns of the folks that are all bent about the venue.

Apparently they want to play and we want them to play so let's get it done! If it is on their website signing the contract must be a formality at this point.

I hope the rest of the entertainment is as good! Nice job folks!

who?

God, you must have led a sheltered life. Think Psychedelic Country Rock. if the "Who?" refers to Henry, all you need to know is:

"Henry got pissed off and said he'd run to Mexico". It was a trip in search of ahh... herbal fullfillment. Nuff said?

Now I have to dig out the old Denim jacket with the 10" NRPS patch on the back. What will i tell my kids?

Absolutely Book 'em. :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap

It's posted on their website as a tour date. A private party featuring the Sage -- Da-------ng. If true, it will do more to boost attendance than any day-pass possibly could. Maybe, the rabbit has just emerged from the hat.

Hey all,

The Beer Garden in Lima was NOT shut down. George's contract stated that no bottles or cans were allowed. Seems he had been hit with a container on stage in the past. We complied and all beverages were served in plastic cups from before he started til he was off stage. I remember it well. Pouring into cups created a lot of extra work for our staff.

Also, the stage was right next to the Beer Garden and the speakers were pointed away from us. We were therefore behind the band and couldn't tell one song from another. We didn't really hear the concert at all, just noise.:banghead :banghead

P.S. I remember the 60's and I WAS there.

+1 NRPS pretty much always had a country sound with some bluegrass mixed in because of David Nelson's roots.

Has NRPS been confirmed by the Rally Committee.. Last thing I read is that nothing had been decided even though the rally was added as a date on the New Riders website

New Riders of the Purple Sage. Guess the BMOA is trying to get the senior crowd enthused. Because it will not get the young people. I would rather hear a local cover band than from a group that pre-dates 8 track.

HankPfister
03-09-2008, 06:31 PM
:dance Now Ericson, you need to be more open minded! Just because NRPS pre dates 8 tracks, doesn't mean you can't enjoy their music. Maybe you just need a hit of some of that blotter stuff we slipped under our tongue when we plugged in an 8 track back in the day:dance ;)

KGT1200
03-09-2008, 07:08 PM
Yep, tell me about it; so many of those bands on 8 track are just not worth our time; take the rolling stones, they were on 8 track, and are not good enough for our rally, or maybe Bob Dylan, or Crosby Stills and Nash; now theres another band form the 8 track days that using the "Ericson scale of whose good" would be past tense; yea maybe we should get the local warm up band, no talent in anybody over 50, so you think?
