Does anyone have any suggestions what would be a good choice for new rear shock absorbers for my 1982 R65. The shocks that are on it now are old air inflated type shocks and I have not been able to prevent them from leaking. They are approximately 12.5" long when fully extended (no weight on bike). I usually ride alone, weigh about 140 lbs., and usually have about 25 lbs. of gear on the bike. Thanks in advance.

Thank You,
I read that thread and I learned that choosing and buying shock absorbers won't be as easy as some other parts.

I like the Progressive (brand name) shocks which I installed on my 1982 R65. You can buy these from Bob's BMW in Maryland, if you live in this US of A. They have a shorter version shock and spring set for the R65 than for the larger airheads - just be sure to specify to them that you want the shorter ones for the R65.
These shocks aren't super fancy, but they give a good ride in my opinion.
