so the bike is 30 years old, so I would expect things like a cable giving up
no biggy, no problem
but someplace I remeber seeing a place taht had all the cables as a "kit" for less then 50 bucks
at this age, if IM gonna replace one, might as well look at all
anyone have a sourse for "quality" cables wihtout spending BMW $$$$$

btw, sure ended a nice sunny ride to have a cable come unfraid, but I made it home, a bit sooner then I was planning

Borrowed from the Airheads list:

"The industry standard supplier for many years was Flanders Co., owned
by Earl Flanders back then. Their website for cable-making components
is:

http://www.flandersco.com/FlanCableSearch.html

You might also check with a bicycle shop for some ideas...

buy an extra set while you're at it and keep them with you, on the bike, a broken cable in the middle of nowhere is the pits!

saw the word Flanders and had to write. Years ago, I had a Pichler fairing put on my bike at the Chgo dealership. Long story short; I couldn't pull the clutch lever. yadda, round and round w dealer and the tech and yadda and bs. Finally ; "We put on a Flanders cable. They're pretty goo-oood."

Maybe not at all related to your situation, and who knows all the variables w mine, but wanted to share my unhappy exp so you wouldn't repeat same w non-bmw pts.
