A popular upgrade to the R1150R was the switch to the older-style K1200RS rectangular mirrors, which had more surface area and gave a different look to the bike.

I noticed the R1200ST mirror had a similar look, and checked out whether it would fit on the R1200R. It will not. The fitment method is different, and the thread of the nut that fits between the end of the mirror's stanchion and the motorcycle is not the same on each model. Too bad. (I suppose the R1200ST nut could be rethreaded to fit the R1200R.)

Just thought you might want to know.

Thanks for the tip. I was thinking about putting the R1200ST mirrors onto my R1150RS... I believe the RS and the R have the same mirrors.

Can anyone advise a good choice for replacement mirrors for '07RT? The stock ones are marginal at best!

That's really too bad. I have an R1200ST, and the mirrors are one of the little things that are really nice on this bike, much better rear view than the round mirrors on my R1100RS.

The K1200 RS mirrors will fit in your handlebar mount and they are the best mirrors I've ever had. I only use one on the right side because the left side is used for my techmount. But the one mirror is great and I can see a really good view behind me.

You may also want to check if GS mirrors will fit. They did in 2002. They were less expensive....
