..or titled... A first time for everything.
The story:
I park in my yard because it hides my oil drips.
So, today, I park in the yard, shut 'er off, put down the center stand (it's level ground), walk over to the retaining wall, set my backpack on it, get my keys out and.... I hear a THUD! behind me.
I turn around, "Motherf_____" and I run over and pick my bike up. Guess the ground was a little too soft tonight.
OF COURSE, I had just filled up my gas, and fair amount splashed out.
Now there's a nice valve cover indentation in the grass/dirt.
:banghead
At least I wasn't under it.

Thank goodness it was on the grass.
So what's your mother's name? Francis? Faith? Florence? Felicia?

Contrary; glad there's not a nice ground indentation in the valve cover.

check under the valve cover, you may have some dirt and grass up under there, enough organic matter will stink a bit if you ride with it under there for a while, DAMHIK:doh

BT, DT. :blush
I did this after my bike was 'dropped' by an all-night rainstorm that softened the ground on which it was sitting (under its cover - I don't leave it out all exposed to everything Mother Nature decides to throw at it)..
What I did was, I picked up a single concrete tile from a pile of miscellaneous ones I have from a home store and embedded it in my lawn. It is just slightly larger than the centerstand and wide enough that I can also hit it with the sidestand. It is low enough that I can mow over it. It provides a big base for your bike's stability and it is, in the context of my 2-acre homestead on a 10-acre farm, essentially invisible unless you're looking for it. Of course, your oil stains might show up on it, but that's a lot more attractive than your bike lying on its side ... :stick
