Can anyone suggest a gps mount for a R12RT that will work with a Garmin novi 350. I would like one that mounts on the left bar if possible. Any thoughts will be appreciated.

I really like my Migsel mount, which goes on top of the "dash" and uses RAM acccessories to mount stuff.

If you have an empty threaded hole on the handgrip assembly (used for a mirror stanchion on other models), Techmount makes a mount that uses that hole. Then you select the length you want, and be sure to get the top plate with all the holes (comes with expanding nuts that are very cool) to accept your Garmin GPS cradle.

I like the Migsel mount also but didn't want to spend the $$$ so I manufactured this "do-it-yourself" mount.

That is what I have for my Zumo. I have the XM antenna mount with it also. It's high enough to see without looking down and it's rigid enough to not vibrate. I went round and round last year on which mount to get. I originally bought a mount (can't remember the brand) that mounts down low between the bars. I didn't like it because it was either too high and blocking the instruments panel or too low and behind the tank bag and too low to see.

I just bought the BMW factory mount which has a standard 4 bolt pattern that the Garmin units use. It puts it where the factory unit would be. Probably a bit more money than other options, but it makes it look like the factory installation.

I screwed (OK I used bolts and Nylock nuts) one of these (http://65.102.174.116/rammount/productdetail.aspx?partnumber=RAM-B-238) on to your clutch reservoir cover - works great for the Zumo

rbitzer,

I don't have a GPS, but I do admire your efforts. I've used Simpson stuff, but wasn't aware that they now have them powder coated. The things we learn!

Thanks for the lesson.

I had the same issue when I got my '05, back in...well, '05. Where do I mount the GPS. In the end I decided to make my own and after showing off on another board I had a few folks ask for one so I made a few more on my lunch breaks when the CNC lathe wasn't on a big setup. Ended up looking like this:

I realize it isn't where you indicated you might like it, on the left side, but I find it is nice and tucked in here and looks a little less like it was stuck on as an afterthought...

And with my old Garmin 376c mounted on it it looks like this:

I went with a Tech Mount. It installs in the vacant left mirror hole. It keeps the GPS sturdy and up where I can see it easier. There are many options and it comes down to your preference.
