I just took my 2005 RT in for its 30,000 Mi. check and they kept it. There had been on problem with brakes that, I could tell, and no warning lights. The diagnostic check showed a problem with the ABS Modulator and it would need to be changed. With 6000 miles left on warranty and this being a $2000 part, my real concern is that this will come up again after I am out of warranty. Any thoughts?:

What was the problem and how did they determine it to be permanent?
I have seen salvaged bike ABS modulators sell on ebay in the $500 to $800 range. I got lucky and got one for my 94 RS for $250 on ebay. Installed it myself and it works fine.

I wouldn't worry. At least it's being changed while under warranty. It's a mechanical device and they do "break". I'm real curious about what the problem was as Andy is. It's as far as I know an uncommon problem.
