After 6 months and 12,000 miles on my R1200GS "Hornet," I traded her off yesterday for a new farkled-out 08 K1200GT. What a difference it is! :brad
Anybody got a Rich's custom seat for one? If so, how's the difference feel? How much lower, or more comfortable when compared to stock?

Not the best, but the only one available for now... Taken in the garage.

Hey, Alain, that's a real purty bike you got there. My only seat advice is sit down and twist throttle.
Enjoy!

I only put about 160 miles on the GT so far, so it's a little early for a real camparison (at 6mo/12000mi, I know the GS quite well). Also note that comparing the bikes would be comparing apples and oranges, so I will post a comparison of the engines once I have more miles under my belt.
What I can already say is that the two engines are as different as one would expect - specifically behaving like a "boxer vs inline-four" would be expected to behave or differ: the boxer definitely has more low-end power (i.e. torque), the in-line four has more high-end power. To keep the bike 'on the gas,' I definitely have to keep the revs up more with the GT vs the GS, but not to an annoying degree. The in-line four is very smooth, I don't feel hardly any vibration anywhere in the RPM range; very different from the boxer. More later...
