27F this morning...I know you people north of the border may have had it colder.
By 2:00PM temp at 40F...needed to ride. Took a 40 mile run along the coast, knowing this may be the last of this year (global warming:sick )
Anyway what a wonderful ride...no tourist, no locals, just the road, sun, and the fresh air.
Me and the old K75 were happy.

Any day you get to ride is a good day regardless of the temperature. Just make sure you ride safe.

Monday may be the last day I commute on the bike. Environment Canada's forecast for Monday is a high of 0C (32F). Tuesday's forecast high is -7C (19F). And I don't have electric gloves :cry

I hit the road here in Ohio also. It was 42 degrees and had started to rain by the time I got done with my 60 mile ride. I wonder why I didn't see any other bikes....

Yesturday, I had to get a couple of pnuematic framing guns repaired at a facility about 100mi away. Temp was 31 degrees when I climbed on at 0730, but with heated gear from top to bottom, I was warm and toasty.

Rode to Salina arriving about 0900. Temp was in the 40's. One of the "girls" in the shop asked me, "Why did you ride that (pointing to the bike), today? Its cold!" my response was a simple, "Why not?", and pointed to the wires leading out of my riding suit. Turned out she and her SO are HD riders.

Called my partner who was picking his Harley up from the shop (again) in Junction City, about 40 miles away. Agreed to meet up and ride back home with him. We took the long way home.

By the time we parted, the odometer had registered 275 miles. Temp was in the 60's, no wind, no clouds. Another great day of Fall riding in the Kansas Flint Hills with the added bonus of having some of it tax deductable.

Does it get any better?
Tom

PS: Actually it does. As we were coming into Manhattan from the South, a state trooper rounded a curve. We were cruising around 70 in a 55 on an empty road. He flipped on his lights, we slowed down, he waved and kept going. Nice guy!

I hit the road again today for another 70 miles and passed about a dozen bikes. It was still 40 degrees, but the sun was out. Yesterday it was cloudy (eventually rained) and I did not see another bike.

Had a similar view when I got up as well. By 10:30 this morning, a strong wind started blowing bringing warmer air. Between the wind and the 4C temperature, the snow melted and the roads dried. HOWEVER, the city decided they needed to dump sand/gravel at some of the intersections. I'm hoping the flurries do not return as forecast this evening so I can ride to work in the morning.
