Have 11,000 miles on my 2007 RT1200 and seems the rear brake need to be replaced, hardly ever use it and find this odd.

My Rear Road Pilot tire and my rear brake have the same life span.

Any comments or like experiences ?

You say the rear brake needs replacing. Do you mean the rear brake pads?

You use the rear brake everytime you stop. When you use the front brake, you are using the rear also - they are linked.

How is the wear on your front brake? How do you like the Road Pilots?

I had replaced mine just shy of 12,000 miles also. However I do a lot of city driving.

Own an '05 R1200RT (bought new in spring of '06). Replaced my Pilot Roads at 11,000+ miles (two times now) and had rear brake pads replaced at 18,000 miles.

Normal wear and tear, as I understand this bike - 22,000 miles and going strong.

Will be putting on a set of Avon Storm ST's in spring. Doing so for the sake of trying something new, and I found the Michelin Pilot Road's tend to whine around 65 MPH.

'06 RT with 18k. I never use the pedal in conjunction with the lever and the rear pads are only 1/2 worn. Avoiding traffic helps also!

I wish my front Pilot Road only whined at 65 mph.

You are correct I am talking Pads, I do alot of two up and city driving so from
the sound of it the wear sounds normal.

On the tires I would not change from the Road Pilots, great balance between grip and wear. Would recommend them any day, I was told they have been replaced by Road Pilot II, $45 -$50 dollars more so grab the Road Pilots now.
