Perhaps the last ride of the season fo us wimps out there was yetsreday - 11/13/07 (in greater Chicagoland). Great day, wished the weather was like that more in November, December.

Any chicgao BMW ownes thinking about toys for tots? If so, is there an official meeting place?

Don't worry.

We'll keep riding for you all down here in the Big Bend Country of Texas.

Life is good.

And around Dallas too. Yesterday it was warm enough that I was glad I wore the mesh jacket when I rode.

Not cold here yet either. 37 degrees and sunny on the way in today. Much better than the 39 degrees with snain last night on the way home!

So far so good in S Florida too. This time of the year is my favorite as the temps are more bearable than that steamy summer stuff. Toys for Tot's should be another big success this year.:dance

About 170 miles this afternoon. Up to the Chisos Basin in Big Bend National Park and then west along the river road towards Presidio. It hit almost 80 at the house - cooler in the basin and a little warmer along the Rio Grande!

Don't feel too bad. You can gloat next July, August, September when it's 100, humid, and the thermometer behind the fairing of my K100LT is 120.

If we hadn't received two to four inches of snow yesterday with ice in my neighborhood today, you can bet I'd be on two wheels even with temps in the mid 20's. The gf can follow me in her jeep to my brother's house for turkey. :-)

Really, the roads are clear but they salted them so that's a no go. And, the three blocks of ice until the salted roads are also a no go. Another couple of days with the temps back in the upper forties and I'll be back out.

It was only Monday that temps were near 70...

35 when i got up to Mass yesterday, definitely felt a bit cold, haven't been much below the mid 40s in NYC yet. amazing the difference just a tiny bit of latitude makes.

please, no one make a Jimmy Buffet reference:thumb

It has been pretty nice weather on the west coast and in the southwest. Here's a sort of trip report of my ride for the last two weeks from CA through AZ and NM into TX. (I know it's in the Gear section, but I wrote it up to talk about my new Rick Mayer Cycle seat.)

Rode to Thanksgiving dinner halfway between Austin & San Antonio at Helen's folks. Been unseasonably warm lately, until this morning. First real cold front blew in last night. woke up to breezy and 40's...Still dry and a good day for riding. Only incident is we seemed to have lost a side case off of the second riders bike:banghead

Did not see it on way home...pair of Olympia pants and a sidecase out there somewhere. :scratch Just got home prior to dark deer- thirty , 43 degrees and another 200 something miles.

Happy Thanksgiving Y'all!

180 miles, up into the Davis Mountains yesterday. Temperatures mostly in the high 70s.

About 38 degrees and windy right now - but warming back into the upper 60s in a couple of days.

We actually had to turn heat on for a little while when we got back home from Thanksgiving Day dinner.

What a difference a day makes...hoping all in the ice storm areas are safe this morning...Oklahoma,Missouri,and Illinois among others looked a bit treacherous on the news. ICE sucks!
Rode in light jacket and 80 degrees until 3 miles from home yesterday as it started dropping, 20 degrees in that short distance.Got caught in a rainshower twice on ride, but light enough to not change gear.

This morning, drizzle and 36 on way in...my lone companion on 1/2 the commute was in my mirror on his HD...but he IS riding...and is ATGATT. It's usually him or one of two motor officers living out near me...the latter usually zipp by me at some point.... then...:wave. I have to think the motor guys are not as warm as me:D Only one has a full helmet.

That's right weather changes quickly around the midwest. If I had been able to ride in the mornings in the last week, my personal low temp mark would have been set. Tonight, it's going to get worse.

On top of the snow/ice/salt/chemicals we already have, we will be under a winter storm watch. Sleet and freezing drizzle will change to snow through tomorrow. I think we're expected to get an inch of sleet and two to five maybe seven inches of snow.

I'm not pulling figures out of the air, but I think we already have about five inches of snow in the last week. Riding may be over for many months so hope you all enjoy your bikes where you can.
