I just traded for a 94 K 1100 RS and have been unable to find road tests on that model. Curious about tested top speeds, acceleration figures and fuel mileage as well as total mileage achieved.

I would also like tank bag recommendations for this bike as well as any wisdom, insights, death threats and offers to transfer money for Nigerian Princes.

Regards,

Will

Will,

Any pictures? Good bike choice.

Just bought a '93 w/ 33K on the clock.

I am curious about tank bags also. I did pick up a BMW top case that we can use for trips- it has a small backrest that Cathy says makes it more comfortable, she can relax with it behind her. It locks down to that little rack on the tail section.

So recommendations for tank bags anyone?

John

I've got one from RKA. The quality is high, very durable, made in the USA and not super expensive. The thing I like about it is that it has a detachable map window that is made to fit road maps like those from AAA and most state DOTs.

Also, try http://www.aerostich.com/catalog/US/index.html

They have a great selection of tankbags and a handy comparison chart to help you figure out what it is that you're wanting.

Ditto. Had an RKA on my K75S.. and loved it enough that I bought one for my R1200R after trying all sorts of other bags.

I'd suggest: http://www.rka-luggage.com/A02%20Tankbags/163%20Build%20sheet/163%20Build%20Sheet.html - works really well.

Say HI to Richard for me if you call!

Although I defer to Don on almost everything I will put in another thumbs-up for the BMW Multivario tank bag - fits like a glove, absolutely secure on the bike (doesn't move or slide around like many others), waterproof with the cover, lot and lots of room. Matter of fact, it was the only thing not bent, cracked or otherwise destroyed when I wrecked my black K11 some years back (though my palm V inside did suffer...)

I certainly wouldn't disagree with Ted - the Multivaro (1) is a great bag, the newer ones less so IMHO - but all of my Multivaro's got too old to be of any use. Zippers were shot, the fabric was falling apart from sun exposure... and Bob Weis had stopped rebuilding them. So.. a new bag was needed..

Yup, stopped making the cool little K11RS fairing pockets too :(

Here is a collection of K100/K1100 road tests from 1983 to 1993. Good reading.
