Reference my first thread; electrical gremlins.
recap: 2002 k1200li 40000 miles engines shuts down but restarts quickly.
I have removed the key switch contact point case, will I have to disassemble it in order to clean the contacts? Or can I spray contact cleaner into the drain hole?
The fuel filter was changed at the 36000 mile mark along with air filter and other maintence items. This seems to be a common problem so I apologize for asking, but i still need some direction. It was mentioned that the hall effect sensor could be a problem, is this the next logical step? I have not heard of any one talking aboput the O2 sensor, but with 40k and I am sure it has been parked on the side stand more than once causing oil to be burned thus contaminating the sensor, is this the next step?
