I'd like to mount my small GPS (Garmin 60) on my 85K100RS. Anyone do this? Since there is so little 'real estate' to work with, my options seem pretty limited. The RAM mount that attaches to the handlebar, won't work - not enough handlebar visible on the side of the dash pad to mount it.
No sense reinventing the wheel - if someone else has already solved this problem.

I have an 87 K100RS and I am going to mount a Vista HCx on it.
2 options I am looking at are:
1) set up a mount using ram-mount components with the attachment using a Mirror mount (ram-B-252) and a bolt through the hole on the left side where a mirror would mount
-or-
2) attach industrial grade velcro to the rear of the Vista holder (after grinding down the mount attachment to make a smooth surface) and industrial grade velcro to the dash pad....easy to pull off the GPS, but secure. Attach the velcro using 'Gorilla Glue' which is waterproof, impervious to heat and cold, etc. and great holding power. This option just allows me to stick the GPS there without having to reposition using the mount in option 1 and it would be very visible to me. I have a Garmin Quest also which I used with a variation of option 1 above but more memory and compactness (also running off AA cells) with the Vista.

I had the same problem on a K1100LT. So I cut about 1 inch of the end of the foam dash pad and used the RAM mount anyway.
Just a thought!

I used GadgetGuy.net hardware to mount my Garmin. It is located near the top of the windshield. Ram mounts dit not work for me.
Pictures to follow.....
