There was a jumper wire fix for the 2000 LT speedometer error. I have an '07 LT and would like to get the speedometer more accurate. The divisions between the decades of MPH are hard enough read without then compensating for 4 mph low error. Is there a way to do it? My BMW mechanic says it is "within specifications."

The LT site has a bunch on this. On the earlier LTs, the jumpers were on B and C on the back of the speedo circuit board. I first posted this fix back when on the LT site and some really capable guys did lots of pictures, instructions, etc. I haven't been into the '05 and later bikes, so I don't know if they can be "fixed". The spec is +10% -0% plus an additional 2.5 MPH. So that is quite a bit...like 10 MPH at 70 and many of the speedos in '99, etc. were that far off. If you set the BC to ave mph and do a reset, then you will get a really accurate mph for a second or so. BTW, the odo is usually within about 2%. Pretty accurate.
