Okay, I know some, maybe thousands, of you RT riders use an oil filter other than the stock one on your bike. Can anyone recommend another brand of oil filter thats fits a 04 R1150RT? Something that is easily available to the general public like at: autozone/checkers/etc...w/o costing a lot of $...?:dunno. Thanks,

There have been a variety of threads on alternate oil filters, including some that ran performance tests on them. Cheap is not always your best option.
The K & N 163 tested very well (right at the top)- I remember that one because it's what I've been using for years.

I don't want to tell you what you should or shouldn't do, but Fram filters are the worst with their cardboard endcaps..... :hungover

Batteries vary. The original in my oilhead just had its 4th birthday and the Wesco in my airhead is 5 or 6 years old.

ABMW air filter is only like $10 and it lasts 12k miles. So I have no problem spending for that.

Down here the filters are $17 incl. sales tax :banghead
No more BMW/Mahle for me. If you can get them for $ 10,=, get a case and hang on to them..

I got an idea, spend the extra $2.00 and get the BMW filter. You can mail order them from the better dealers and get the crush washers thrown in for nothing… Why spend the $ for this type of bike to save a few bucks on the service and maintenance?

Because they are spending $2 for this filter and charging us $17. Worse then that, after you pay your money and go out the door they make sure the coast is clear. Then they all high five and holler: SUCKER!!! :twirl
I HATE it when they do that!
