hello folks,

i'm picking up a rockster from my brother in vegas and i'll be riding it back to san francisco tomorrow morning.

where can i quickly tap into to get power to the zumo 550?
i was thinking i can tap into the headlight but i'm not sure about the wring on this bike and neither does my brother.
can anyone give me some suggestions or tell which wires are which?
i haven't looked at it yet but i thought i'd post and see if anyone's got any good advice. BTW, there's no accessory plug. my brother's got limited tools as well...

i'll check back in about an hour, once i look over the bike.

thanks

Since the Zumos supplied wiring has an inline fuse, I attached connectors to the 2 wires and ran them directly to the battery posts. I've had no issues

Crimp on a ring connector, remove nuts from battery posts, place the leads, tighten the nuts, dress the wires along the frame, done.

thanks guys! :wave
gonna try that. i'm trying not to take off the tank as we don't have many tools here. he just moved here and doesn't have much.

but i think i have enough room to get under the tank and connect the hot wire to the positive terminal. and i'll just ground somewhere on the chassis.

so i've just wired up the zumo and i'm ready to rock.
i had just enough access w/o taking off the tank. we ended up buying a whole ratchet/wrench set and a crimping kit.

i'm riding my new addition to my beemer family back to SF in the morning. my planned route is 650mi and i'll be cutting through death valley...:wow

thanks again guys!
