It was on this day, 21 years ago, that a foolish young woman married a foppish young man. My wife may have regretted ever since (you have heard my jokes).

I don't know if I speak "wife" but I clearly haven't done anything too bad.
We have my brother coming over tonight to watch the kids and we are going out to eat (alone and together) for the first time in months.

21 years is a long time and our final drive is still lookin' good. We are in it for the long haul.
Cheers.

Now, I will burst forth in song:

(Sung to the tune of Sgt Pepper)

It was 21 years ago today
Rapid Roy got a girl to say

She would marry me for while
‘cuz she said liked my style

So let me introduce to you
the couple’s couple for all these years

Mr and Mrs Rapid Roy! (Cheers)

A special day indeed. Congratulations; you've both defied the odds. Your wife obviously sees something in you, as you clearly do in her.

Enjoy your evening together, and many more to come.:wave

Congrats, Roy!

Tomorrow is our 16th. Most years, we know it's our anniversary because my mom calls and says "Happy anniversary," and we just stare blankly at each other for a few minutes. For the first few years, I'd even pry my wedding ring off and look at the date inscribed in it in disbelief. This year, however, we realized ahead of time, and we've got a special plan. We're going out for a nice breakfast, and then we're going to have a special lunch together, and then...

...she'll take me to the airport, where I'll get on my plane back to Portland and an empty house. I am so lucky to have found someone who has as little notion of special days as I do.

Thank you everybody. Nancy thanks 2Bike Mike.:laugh

When we left, my brother had my daughter laughing so hard,
her face was turning red. She loves her Uncle (me too).
We had a good dinner, Fish Fry and Ribs.
She has agreed to 23 more, I now have a chance to clean up my act.
Life is good. (well, as good as it gets right now)

congrats here too! as a wise woman once said

"Men are like a fine wine. They begin as grapes, and it's up to women to stomp the crap out of them until they turn into something acceptable to have dinner with".

Sometimes it takes a good deal of time to make a fine whine.
