San Diego...

So I don't have the time to ride out from home but once in San Diego I was thinking about renting a cycle for the afternoon on the 16th. Any ideas? Seem pretty expensive $110 for an HD for the day or $180 for a beember. Not sure my wallet can afford either, but thought others might know of another option:bikes . Thanks,

There is some really excellent riding east and north of San Diego. Get out a map and look for the small roads.

Take CA-79 up to Julian for a piece of apple pie. Check out county roads S6 and S7 off CA-76, and the other roads around the Mt. Palomar Observatory. Or, just wander around some of the smaller roads between CA-94 and I-8.

Check the weather, especially up at Palomar, but also in the hills generally, it can be surprisingly cold.
