Hello All
Ridesalot here.....:clap
New to MOA been riding ( Briggs and Strattons) for 30years
one test drive was all it took !!!!
I sold all of my Harleys and my Harley stock and bought the K1200LT
A 2005 model ( I now have 40,000 miles on it ) Man i love that bike !
Went to the west bend rally with a friend of mine who was already a member of MOA
he said he would like to buy me a tshirt.
Odd that this shirt said BMWMOA on it ( I liked the way it looked )
After he bought it he said only members could wear the shirt..........so now I can wear my new shirt.
Having been to Sturgus and Laconia I didn't know what to expect from this rally
Man what a difference for once I could sleep at a rally and not have to worry
about someone stealing my iron horse and I could sleep because there was no
noise whoo hooo
Enough about me I am going to Louisville BMW open house on Sat 10/06
Mine a grey K1200LT and look for a red haired hippie thats me ! See you there ! :D

Welcome aboard! The K12LT is a beautiful bike, nothing against HD's, I love to pass them all day, but you have made a good choice. I have yet to make it to a MOA rally, but look forward to getting to at least one next year. I trust you will get as much enjoyment from the MOA ON magazine and camaraderie of this club as I do! Again, welcome!

I'm also new to BMW. My first real exposure was at the Lima rally a few years ago. An friend and MOA member invited me along. I immediately noticed a much friendlier atmosphere than any non BMW rally I had ever attended. Also the noticable lack of noise was welcome. It took me a few years to make the switch but I unloaded the Electra Glide (after 29 years of riding HD's) and bought an '07
K12LT. What a a giant leap forward!! And now no on makes fun of the way I dress with full gear.

Wecome to the family my friend. You will really enjoy everyone in the MOA.
I have discovered several amazing things today. First cheese in a can that our fearless president likes. Then I found out that someone is making aluminium cans and adding beer into them. Then I found out that Mr. Ed didn't really talk.
What really struck me down though was the fact that Leave it to Beaver has been taken off television because of pornographic references.
June had said to Ward " you were a little hard on the Beaver last night." Oh the irony. What is this world coming too? :dunno
So new guy. I have a question for you. If you were stuck on an island with Ginger or Maryanne. Which one would you take? Personally I would take Maryanne because I think Ginger has a lot of mileage. That chicks been around.
I can't believe the Skipper and Gilligan shacked up together. Now we all know why the Skipper called him little buddy. Then the Professor much too bust to even think about scoring with the babes.
I won't get into the Howell's. They were wrapped up tight with the cash. With all that money you think Lovey would have has some nip/tuck done. I'm done.
Welcome to the Family

I sold all of my Harleys and my Harley stock
Well, ya idjit! :bluduh
There's no reason not to keep making money off your former compatriots! ["Yes, I think you should buy your gf that H-D branded leather teddy. Just make sure it's Genuine Harley DavidsonŠ"] I've been doing it for over a decade. I love telling them I've "got more Harley" than they do - but I don't ride one. :laugh
Do what I did: keep the H-D stock and buy BMW ("BAMX" on the European market - you have to push your broker to get it)! :thumb

As of late they have had to revised their numbers for 4th quarter sales
HD are not sailing the briggs and strattons so well.............some coupons are even being used.:violin
I just wanted to make a statement to HD ( I know don't let emotions enter into ur financial decisions):banghead
I sent them a picture of my new LT and explained to them I had been a supporter
(er duped) for 30+ years when they made a bike that does everything the LT
does call me and I will buy one of them..
I think I am pretty safe there as the ABS fiasco they just went through is a testament to their antiquated way of doing business.
Man I thought someone would have kicked the soap box out from under me sooner..:dance

I wonder how many riders here sold or traded a Harley for their first Beemer. I did, and never a single regret.
