The media cashes in on simple minds. That includes TV.

Everytime I'm in the line-up at the cash with those worthless rags glaring at me, I just shake my head and think..."who the **** cares and who the **** reads this crap?".

To answer your question, NO.

(On the other hand, if Paris's new beau rode a motorcycle, THAT would be newsworthy!) :nyah

How about "Paris has new tower?"

As concerned as I am with all the gossip, this seems unimportant.
No real disasters to cover is probably a good thing.

Just looking at the frontpages brings you "up-to-date"......:hungover.
As for TV, I don't have one anymore and don't miss it, except for Discovery and History channels. The rest is 200 channels of pure garbage.....YMMV

NEW YORK — Paris Hilton plans to visit Rwanda as part of her post-jail commitment to use her celebrity status to bring attention to social causes

Hmmm?

Paris has a new boy toy or...
car bomb kills X in crowded market.

I'm sure Yahoo knows who it's main user groups are and is pandering to them accordingly.

BTW. You never did tell us, is he cute???:wave

Holy Gummikuh, there are two of us.

At the Wal-Mart after work today while standing at the cash, glaring at me once again on the front cover of some rag Brad dumps A... (all I could see was the top portion of a capital "A"...must have been Angelina).

I think if I were to be a lawyer, I'd want to be one specializing in divorce in Hollywood. These poor people change partners like I change my underwear. Short attention spans and no values.

I miss the old tabloids of Martians which are now in Kansas, mystical creatures killing animals, and Elvis was flying a Hughes UFO with Howard......................they are both dead aren't they ? This kind of news sells.

Ah yes, the Weekly World News and the Sun! I haven't seen the Sun in ages, but parent-company American Media Inc. has the title listed at the bottom of its homepage (non-linked...cannot find a site for the Sun).

Weekly World News never went away, but last month it did leave the checkout-line to become a web-only publication:http://www.weeklyworldnews.com/

I've always enjoyed the cutting-edge journalism of these fine publications. They are truly ahead of their time.

The Weekly World News is a staple at our house. Not because we rely on it for news, but because it is so hilarious that it is a great stress reliever. (I used to pick it up in the checkout line when my partner and I had had a hard week.) It's better than The Onion IMHO.

I have a few really good actors as clients, needless to say that they don't live in Hollywood nor are they in the tabloids that often if at all....:brow

It is not newsworthy, it is gossip worthy. What the heck are you reading? I only like the stories when the spoiled brats go to jail, and only once, I don't need endless analysis of the stupid crap (sorry, could not think of a better term).

That's why there is Blockbuster and Netflix, I only watch broadcast TV to see if anyone I know got shot.

Don't forget The Daily Show and The Colbert Report on Comedy Central...

The best thing about living on the West Coast and having DirecTV is that I can watch the East Coast feed, so while you East Coasters are watching TDS and TCR at 11:00 PM and 11:30 PM respectively, I'm watching those same shows at 8:00 PM and 8:30 PM respectively :)
