Hello,
I have acquired a 1978 R100S which was is in need of a major service. Can anybody recommend a good BMW M/C mechanic in the area. The local dealer A/S BMW does not work on the "classic" bikes anymore. Thanks...

Getting closer. I know the SF/Bay Area still has a bunch of shops, its hard getting anything around here. I know of Ozzies in Chico, and Cycle Specialties in Modesto. I was trying to find a good local wrench to help me get this thing on the road.

I'm in Clovis,Ca., a good 175 miles south. My Airhead is a '78 R100/7, so I hope you've found as good of bike that year as mine has been. '78 seems to have been a great year for BMW bikes, imo. I do work occasionally when folks find me and I have the time. Yes, I have the experience and time invested to do all the airhead work. I am amazed at the dealers not working on the older bikes! Cycle Specialties, Modesto are good folks and I've done lots of business with them over the years when I need parts, etcetc.. I am not near them either, but have found them so very helpful, moreso than other BMW dealers in CA..Good luck, Randy13233:D
