Attached is a link to Snowbums Tech Site (http://www.cdegroot.com/cgi-bin/mirror/pweb.jps.net/~snowbum/techindex.htm). See 52A (http://www.cdegroot.com/cgi-bin/mirror/pweb.jps.net/~snowbum/Oil.htm) . Good luck.

the three bolts that hold the oil filter cover are a tight fit behind the head pipe and frame. Be patient. One will seem to jam against the frame before it's out far enough to remove. Take it w the cover.

Use the 9mm (I believe) allen wrench to ''catch" the drain plug as you turn the last thread and oil starts to drain. That way you won't have to fish it out of the drained oil.

take a good look at the order in which the white (probably) O-ring, the metal shim and filter come out.

I believe Chi Tech (Oak and others) is recommending against the paper gasket behind the filter cover so that it closes that much more tightly agianst the O-ring et al.

I'll bet others on the forum will opine differently. But good luck and enjoy your new scoot!

Here's the ONLY link to trust
http://www.bmwmoa.org/about/clubs/clubs.htm

It will guide you to your local BMW club, where you can find someone to help you in person.
