My new/old bike is a 78 R100S. I bought it with an aftermarket fairing removed. I think they had a RT fairing on the bike. The headlight assembly has the volt/clock wires coming out of the top. Will a S fairing mount to this bracket, or do I need a different mount parts. What are my options? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks..

Not really. Go to one of the realom sites and view the parts for the S fairing. All the parts are available though your local dealer. U brought up options. A lot of the hot rod guys like to take the RS or RT mounts like what U have and modify it to fit the S fairing. This takes the fairing duties off the Steering aspect and applies it to the frame. Good luck with your project.

In short: NO.
The bracket that you show is for either a RT or RS fairing. A S fairing has a completely different set up. How do I know? My bike went from a RT to a R, then to a S, and now to a RS.
Can you make it work? I am sure you could, with cuts here and there, welds here and there. But why when stuff is still readily available?
My food for thought... :eat :drink

Not only no, but you're going to have to obtain normal headlight mounts and fork-mount turn signals.

Thanks, I just figured that out. With all the wires out of the top headlight assembly. I was concerned about water inside causing electric damage. I probably need to swap out the housing also...

I have read of people converting a s faring to a frame mount faring....not sure how hard it is to do. Check on www.Boxerworks.com and search or ask.
