I remember that there was some dye that one could put in the engine oil that would help to find oil seepages and leaks.
Anyone have that info and how to use it??

It's called baby powder and it goes on the outside of the engine! Seriously, personally, I'd be reluctant to put anything other than oil inside the engine. Clean the outside, dust the surface in the suspect areas, go for a ride...then see where the oil stains are.
Or maybe this will float your boat:

You can use spray deodorant with aluminum hydroxide in it. You want the highest % you can find. I think I used Arid Extra Dry. Clean the area first. The deordorant sprays on white and the oil leak leaves a black trace.

The dyes work with uv light, kits and supplies are a lot more expensive and harder to find, than aforementioned. Tool dealers would be one source-SnapOn, Mac, Matco among others.

I use spray choke and carb cleaner from Auto Zone to clean the suspected leaking areas. Great degreaser. Then the powder trick of deoderant (actually I think it is antipersperant) or baby powder.
Good luck.
