Out of curiosity gentlemen: Anyone have suggestions, information or past experience in taking weight off a K1200RS?

Exercise and drink light beer...:laugh Oh you actually mean the bike....sorry. After market exhaust, after market rims, remove center stand (not a practical idea), titanium crank.........or just buy a Japanese bike. The CBR1100XX is about a 100 lbs lighter from stock, and I'm guessing the Kawasaki version wouls be as well.

I went with the Two Brothers Ti exhaust, 16 lbs lighter, but now the bike pulls to the right even more than before. Haven't found rims or other lighter mods I can afford. I also notices my Corbin seat is about 4 lbs heavier than my Sargent seat, didn't weigh the stock one.

Let me know if you come up with any real ideas!

Hey John,
Thanks. At 5'9" & 155 I don't have much room to go in lightening myself up, and I can't stand light beer in the first place. Patron margaritas are the call!

Have fun,
Marco

Get an aftermarket exhaust and remove the ABS system. The brakes work really well, even without the ABS pump/motor. However, if you're built like most BMW riders, I can assure you that it would be cheaper and easier to lose 10lbs off of the rider than it would be to lose 10lbs off your bike. :eat
As someone who takes their K1200RS to track days a couple times a year I had to face the reality that the K1200RS is a fast sporty TOURING bike, and its not going to be a sport bike no matter how hard you try.
