Looking for input about the Cross Country Motor Club!!

When I bought my RT in 99, I got the 3 yr free membership to the CCMC from BMW. I bought the GS in 01 & received another card for that bike. I got a renewal notice in 02 about the RT expiring. I called to renew by phone with a credit card. After renewing the RT for $35, I got into a discussion with the pleasant girl on the phone & she told me I only needed one membership, and that it would cover any BMW bikes that I had. They had already run the card , so she said I should get a refund or a year extension. I told her to extend me for another year!

Feb 03, I get renewal notice again for RT. After talking to a guy for awhile, he agreed that my current GS card would cover all BMW bikes that I own, so just let the other expire. He checked records & I had not received the year extension that I had paid for the previous year. He would check on it.

Feb 04, Received renewal for GS & after spending 1/2 hr on the phone yesterday they are telling me that I need a card for each bike that I want to be covered on, reflecting the vin number of each bike on the appropiate card!

I know a lot of you have several bikes, so can anyone give me advise on what (I'm stranded) club you have found beneficial to you & what the policies are for owning more than 1 bike??

Thanks in advance!

The one time I had to use Cross Country for the motorcycle, the service was fine. HOWEVER, dealing with them administratively was extremely unsatisfactory. First, when the coverage expired I renewed and asked them to automatically renew. They didn't do the renewal, and unknown to me, I went a year with no coverage. (I realize I should have noticed the card wasn't charged.) I then renewed for a year and put a reminder in my PDA to renew again a year later. When I called that time, I was told they couldn't find me in the system. It turns out they had given me car coverage, which I didn't need. The person on the phone was very apologetic, but I dumped them. I went with the BMWMOAs plan. I have not had to use it yet, but I assume our club would not offer the product if we couldn't rely on it. I have also dumped them for one of the BMW cars and will do the same for the other when the warranty expires.

I also got a 3 yr membership with my 2000 Roadster. Last year I considered renewing, finding another service or just going without. After much consideration, including reading the many posts on this forum, I decided that my Anonymous book was what I was going to rely on for the near future. I encourage anyone about to renew to read the many posts on this forum about the variuos services available.
