Perhaps you just saw my other posting, if not, I just picked up a 96' K1100RS. This is an exciting advance from my 87' K75. The biggest difference immediately noticeable is the more pronounced lean on the RS. I am curious to where others have purchased bar backs or bar risers (or combinations of the two). Do some do better than others on keeping down vibrations? How many inches did you gain, and in what direction? What cables/lines had to be adjusted or replaced to accommodate the longer reach? Any shout outs for good online experiences? I am really looking for a riser that can give me as many inches as possible, without diminishing control aspects. Thanks!

It looks like they messed up on their webpage. It says use the brake hose listed below for K1100rs but then it doesn't show the hose. You'll have to give them a call.I use these same barbacks on my K75Ss and think that they are the best ones available. They have the holes drilled specifically for the K-bike dash pad.

I just installed a pair of bar backs from Twisted Throttle.
The part no. is LEH.00.039.132
I have not ridden it a lot since then, but they seem to do the job and I like them.
They move the bar 1 inch up and 1 inch back. This amounts to 1.4 inches towards you. The installation was easy, no new cables. I did cut a few cable ties and then redid them when I was done. I cut out the dash panel with a hacksaw blade. I just cut a area out directly above the round hole where the key used to go. Then I attached the dash panel with a pair of cable ties from the former mounting holes to just under the new bar backs. To mount it any better, you will have to build some custom brackets. It works for me.

i have a 94 k1100rs... i loosened the handle bar clamps and moved them up and down until i found the sweet spot...
i changed seats and had to readjust them to the sweet spot...
i like the stock bars in a high position almost to where they are touching the crash pad...
i know some folks that go with bar backs and like them... just as many who went with bar backs and switched back to stock...
some ideas at this link...

Try the K75 C bars. They are up and back about 1.5" and easier on the wrists than the RS bars. No cable or hose changes.

After a many frustrating (and expensive) attempts to get my bars comfortable, I fashioned these "adjustable" bars
9507
I can adjust the height (with spacers) and the bar end has a "ball and socket" type arrangement that I can adjust in any direction (within limits). I'm really happy with the result, and fool myself into believing that the bars won't smash my legs when I take a trip over the top.

Here's a closer pic (how do you post more than one in a reply?)

The rust is what holds it all together!!

Wow thanks for all the responses. I just got back from a week speeding through the ozark mountains. I left the bars in the stock position for the trip. I only had the bike for two days before I left, so other things like and oil change and spline lube were in order first. I think I will adjust the stock bars first, before I switch anything out or add bar-backs. I didn't know I could adjust them. Things are about to get really busy for me the next few weeks, but I will try to post results. Thanks again!
