I'd like an opinion on a dealer's response to my request for a software upgrade to my 06 K12S. I know this is covered at some length on the K bike sites, but thought I would get some help here.
I've got 4K miles on the bike, with very jittery injection at 2500 to 3000 rpm when cold, very significant hesitation at low speeds and rpms, and at times, a significant lag when I hit the throttle hard. I believe the software is an earlier version. I'm taking the bike in for tires, open brake recall and oil and filter change. I asked the dealer to upgrade the software because of these issues. ( I wanted to give the bike a fair shot, so thus waiting for 4K miles to do this) The dealer said if I don't like the upgrade (I think to a version 9.x) he couldn't do anything else. This sounds strange indicating continuing problems with the softward upgrade. Any advice what to do?
