I have a '97 K1100LT. On the way back from West Bend, my radiator decided to start leaking. I was able to "limp" home. I've checked on the price of a new one, and was shocked. Does anyone know if you can have these fixed at a radiator shop, or do I need to bite the bullet and buy a new one? Any ideas would be much appreciated.

www.beemerboneyard.com has two for sale. I'd have a used radiator cleaned and tested before I went to all the work to put it in.
Did your radiator fail, or was it a road hazard?

Jon,
Not sure. It must have been road debris, nothing else has happened to the bike. I checked BeemerBoneyard, and will probably go in that direction. Thanks.

Do you have full coverage on your bike? Insurance might pay for the repairs, worth checking into. JON

Radiators have been around for a long, long time and the local radiator repair shops are pretty darn good at fixing and will guarantee their work for a limited time. The cost to repair is probably going to be about $75 if you deliver it to them, which is what they would likely charge to clean and check out a used one if you decide to purchase one.....
Me, I'd take the one I have to the shop & see what they can do.....plus, you'll have it back in 1-2 days.
