I attended my first MOA Rally and I fell in love with the 1200LT. I ride a 93 K1100LT but would loke to buy a 1200LT as well so I can alternate.
Browsing the internet I see LTC and LTE. Can anyone tell me what the difference is between those two.

I think the LTE was only available from 2002-onward, and was basically an LTC model with a GPS and Comm system included. bmwlt.net would have the definitive answer on this.

Thanks Jon,
I will check it out. Checked out all dealers within 250 miles and only 1 1200LT for sale used. That tells me that it is a good bike.
I will keep looking.

I put 42K on a K1200LT and it was a big magic carpet that got 50mpg all the time. 2beers bought it from me and he seems to love it as well.
I like those big bikes a lot.

Jon is a huge wealth of infomation when it comes to the k bikes. The 1200LT we bought from him is an excellent machine. I think he was suprised when he saw another 10k miles on it since I bought it last August. Time for a new tire already? I have had no problems and plan on keeping it a long time.

I am amazed how many people here have such a great knowledge of all the bikes.
I wish I could find someone close to me who could teach me more about K bikes.
I own right now a 93 K1100LT with almost 102,000 miles and would love to do some of the needed work myself since I love to work on bikes and machines/engines overall.
I sit in an office long enough and enjoy getting my hands dirty.
So if you know anyone who lives in the area of Cedarburg, WI and wants to teach a novice on K-bikes, have him or her contact me.
