View Full Version : Question on Two Brothers exhaust

I'm looking at installing a Two Brothers exhaust system (headers back) on my '04 K1200GT. I had a Remus system on my '98 K1200RS and liked it.
I want a touch throatier sound but don't want to sound like a Harley. Any performance improvement is welcomed but secondary to the exhaust tone.
Anybody have experience with the Two Brothers system? If so, what about durability?

I think the silence is telling you something .....

And that would be exactly which of the following (listed in no particular order):
1) Nobody who owns a Two Brother's has read the posted question?
2) Nobody who owns a Two Brother's has read the posted question and elected to respond?
3) Nobody actually owns a Two Brother's system that are widely listed for sale by numerous retailers?
4) Nobody has an opinion on the product?
5) The answer is secret and may involve an assasination if the secretive response is revealed?
Clue me in ... I'll buy a vowel if needed. :dunno

Everyone is contemplating the prospect of making a K1200GT somehow sound like a Harley???

You might consider actually reading the original post and have some knowledge about the level of sound change prior to making totally incorrect statements:
Original post:

Given that ZTechnik, Two Brothers, Staintune and Remus all produce aftermarket exhaust systems for these, and many other BMW bikes, I think it is safe to say there is a substantial market for exhausts with altered tone, lighter weight and improved power. But I'm sure they are ALL wrong and you are right.

Geez little Stevie Wonder, just TRYING to get the ball rolling for you and bump your thread up. I was just suggesting that this was the case, and implying it would be hard to make a K Bike sound like potato-potato-potato. I have a Luftmeister on my K75 and it's anything BUT subtle.

I have no firsthand experience with any of these after market exhausts, but from what I have read here and on other boards, 2-Bro's have the reputation for being just TOO loud - even for people who want a louder exhaust. I've read more than one post about someone who tried 2-Bro's only to remove it.
I'm sure a search of this board,
or

or

will provide all the info you are looking for.

Love the sound of my 2 Bros. on my K1200RS! Quieter than my buddies ZX1100 with Muzzy, louder than another friends CBR1100 with stock exhaust. Not sure what the real performance increase was, but it seemed to pull a little stronger at lower RPM, could be wishful thinking..........
