Hard Start

Recently I had both head gaskets replaced, the cam chain tensioners, and one piston on my 1995 R1100R (w ABS). Ever since the repairs, the bike starts really hard. It takes about three to five seconds of grinding before it ignites. Sometimes after it ignites, it might stop and then the grinding starts over.

Bike only has 17K miles on it and a new battery.

Any ideas? Suggestions?
