today i was reminded of the importance of carrying an extra alternator belt, and of course checking the tension and condition of the one on the bike on a regular basis.
wasn't mine that needed tending, but i thought it worthy enough to share a reminder with everyone here.
hope everyone enjoyed wisconsin.

If you ride with your driver saddle in the middle or upper position, a spare belt fits nicely around the forward RS seat posts IIRC. :D

Yeah, I carry two - one for myself and one to sell if the right circumstances arise.....:deal :brow
It's also good to have the right tools and know how to change one on the road if necessary.

thanks for the idea. my belt is okay. i got to help someone replace one on an r1150rt which is way more difficult to do than it is on the rs. there's a lot of stuff in the way.

Its not bad once you pull the radio box, but getting down to the radio box is a chore. :D
