Hey Mully -

You going to the 49er? C'mon by our tent. Tina will mix you up a nice bombay martini.

There's no quicker way to make new friends than to have a cocktail shaker available.

MMMMMMMMMM !! Bombay !! :yum

Yep, I plan to be there. My idiot brother-in-law will be in town that weekend, so I'm planning to be "on the road" for however long it takes to avoid him. :rolleyes

I dunno if I can camp there at the "sheep pen" again........had the worst attack of hay fever I've ever had Sunday morning last year. (achoo!). Nevertheless, I'll look you up. I have a great recipe for Bombay martinis to share. :):

Um. Where'd you find those?

Now that would be a fine martini.

My head hurts.
at 2 AM the martini seemed like a good idea.

We did just get the "loop" in before the sky started opening up. Somebody delete the Blue Cheese stuffed olive thread before Gypsy sees it and we have to spend the day trying to find them.

mmmmmmmm.....bleu cheese. What's the smilie for food-gasms?

:bliss :bliss :bliss

Too late, Honey. It's raining, we've already got our ride in...what the hell else do we have to do today anyway? :stick

Mully - you should try Feta stuffed olives. Very yummy, as well. :yum My staple - up until now, that is ;) - has been garlic stuffed. mmmmmm...garlic.

I've gotten to the point that the six olive - yes, SIX - in my martini are usually different types. Moterbiker calls it my *salad.* As in, "go make your salad."

:clap Bleu Cheese!!! :clap

:clap Okay, so who is bringing what to National?

Don't try this at home, I am a highly trained professional drinker.

I found them at the St. Regis in Dana Point. Ize dere for a bizness meeting and someone announced the cocktail flag had been raised, and...........what else was I to do??? The gal at the pool bar was a local, surfer-chick kind of person and she suggested them with Grey Goose: the rest is history. :evil

Ever have a "Blue Room" martini??? You will if we hook up at the 49er

Okay, housekeeping question...
do the bleu cheese and other varieties of stuffed olives require refrigeration
or do they travel at room temp?
Or do they never last long enough after opening that this has ever been an issue?

An excellent, practical question! :D

The BC variety should be refrigerated, but I suspect - given some of the responses of this group - that the half-life of a jar of these beauties would be measured in minutes at a rally.......... :eek

Having spent a few years in construction, "Blue Room" conjures up something I would not want to drink! But I'll sit back and watch :evil

Um. No. But I'm game. I'll bring the bigass shaker, a couple glasses and the olive spears. Got a big cooler to hold the correct amount of ice as well.

*goes off to register for the 49'er*

Greg

Well, it's really more of a Blue Bar martini, as that's the place it originated. The New York Writer's "Round Table" met at the Blue Bar in the "Gonk" (the Algonquin Hotel) - with luminaries like Dorothy Parker and Robert Benchley. The "Blue Room" martini originated there.

But I can't begin to imagine what kind of "Blue Room" you might have in mind......... :eek
