Well
My wife has joined the black belt gang ('03 CS, her first bike) and the first few trips on the bike would indicate we need some guarding.
I know that the GS's have a large variety of crash bars and I'm thinking of the Hepco and Becker in particular.

Will the GS bars bolt onto the CS frame?

Also, I'm guessing that ownership of a thumper means a standing account with Loctite, I just wonder if anyone has better luck with blue, medium strength or is it red all the way.

Thanks

I wouldn't worry to much about stuff constantly falling off the bike. It doesn't vibrate even close to the amount of my old XT 500 without a counter balancer did.

Blue loctite is sufficient for just about everything on it. But to be honest I don't even bother using loctite on it. In 5 years of owning mine and 30K miles I have had exactly 1 bolt come loose. And I had worked on it about a week before it came loose so I am sure it was a lack of my tightening it compared to vibration doing it.

I have no idea what crash bars work on a CS, Sorry.

I picked up an 05 F650 CS about a year ago and have put about 8K miles on it mostly commuting. How many others are riding the CS? I love it! 65 MPG and being in Milwaukee, Harley Town, it rocks to keep up with the big boys. :bolt

At one time 500cc was a big biker. 650cc makes for a fine ride. The CS is the molst economical ride BMW has made. :dance
