On my 2004 R1150R, I stripped the threads that hold the upper mount for the touring screen. I want to either rethread the hole, or use a Heli-coil. There seems like there would be no good, clear way to do this with the headlight bracket and the forks in the way. I figured the best, maybe not the quickest though, way would be to remove the headlight, bracket, and the front right fork. I have the shop manuals, both Clymer and BMW, and it seems pretty straightforward.
Does anybody have their 2 cents they'd like to throw in as far as doing this?
