Hi;
New to the BMW world and need some advice.
I have thought about the ELF highway pegs for
my 06 R1200RT but they look kind of fragile.

1- if the grand kids stepped on one extended
would they hold the weight of 50 lbs.
2-looks like they are held in place with a couple
of set screws, do they have a tendancy to come lose.

thanks,
Bill

I'd be concerned if the grandkids were climbing on the motorcycle unsupervised, regardless of the pegs. That said, I don't think the ELF peg is going to hold a 50 pound person standing on one.

I've got 19K miles on my set of pegs, so not a lot by some standards, but no problems with them coming loose.

Hi,

Installed Elf pegs last month on my R1100 and rode cross country (5800 miles. See post -- NW FL to Bay Area and Back -- in Ride Reports). In my opinion, they are very sturdy! They are also expensive, so I would only recommend for long range touring, as standing up in the saddle can give your legs periodic respite from muscle cramps. That said, Elfs are well made and a worthwhile investment (IMHO) if you plan to do a lot of riding on Autostrade.
