(I'm not interested in the add on HyperLights)
I have this on the R-1100R http://www.homebody-design.com/ But they wont answer email and the phone is disconnected.
Another option: http://www.maxbmwmotorcycles.com/service/auxlights.html But I have no experience with that item.
Any other ideas? I'm really happy with the Brake! unit on the R-1100R but cant get hold of them.

Threre are a number of vendors for the Brake! product if you google the product. You might consider contacting one of them.

I was hoping to get a lead from a happy customer. Some of them get bad reviews.

I have a BRAKE! LED flashing brakelight on the back of my R1100RSL. Works as advertised, and I think it is a significant enhancement to visibility for BDCs. This is the basic model (no additional modules). I'm quite satisfied.

I got the whole "run-n-lites" sheebang installed at the rally in Lima, Ohio 2 years ago. This includes the turn signal LEDS, the add on LEDS under the license plate, and the blinking module for all the brake lights. Have had no problems at all, and I think that we got a heck-of-a-deal, as watching them being installed took longer than I expected, and was a bunch of dissasembly/reassembly. Get up to Wisconsin and see who is vending these sorts of things.:dance

I tried a "homemade" approach to the brake light issue. I went to our local Pricess Auto store and puchase some trailer LED lights and a Ford switching relay. I doctored the LEDs to fit inside my signal lights and had them on dim for driving lights, with the help of a resistor. I tied the relay into the power supply for the brake light so that when the brakes where activated the relay would by-pass the resistor and the LEDs would come on bright. It looks great and is hidden behind the amber signal light lens. My fellow riders realy noticed my breaks after the change. It was done on my 1999 R1200C.

An option might be to check out Moto electrik (http://www.motoelekt.com). They may have some other options for you.

I spoke to them by phone about 2 weeks ago and just received the unit this week, so they are still in business. They are a small shop, so you may need to be patient. Great product, works as advertised.

The phone number on their website says "no longer in service" and they havnt answered an email I sent a week ago. And the dealer I usually order from hasnt been able to get one from them in 6 weeks.
I would LOVE to order another one but cant get hold of them.

I ordered the Brake! LED light through the dealer that I use. (http://4dsms.com/Default.asp) The people who manufacture Brake are a small company and the tail-light module is very popular and always back ordered. I believe they are out of Canada.
I have it on my 04 R1100S and it works great. Very pleased. It took me just over a month to get it, though. Very easy to install yourself. When and who ever you order it from just be patient.
As a side note, I also ordered the amber LED lights for my rear turn signals. I ordered them through Santa Cruz BMW. (http://www.bmwsantacruz.com/main.html) They, too, work great and were easy to install.

The people who manufacture Brake are a small company and the tail-light module is very popular and always back ordered. I believe they are out of Canada. It is in Victoria, BC. The toll-free number is disconnected and no further information is available. The other number was answered three days ago with a promise to return my call in an hour when the owner was to return. No return call. Yesterday, the voice mailbox was full, and I could no longer get through. Email is not answered. The local BBB is looking into them.
Damn shame. The unit on my '02 R1150R had worked flawlessly, so I sent them money for my '07. But with all this, I'd rather have the return of my money than rely upon them for support.

Everywhere I call they are out of stock on the Brake! units and cant seem to get any more.
Perhaps I need to look at other options. :banghead I really liked the Brake! unit.
If anyone sees one on the dealers shelves for a 2002 R-1150RT, let me know.

Latest from another source I contacted who was having the same communication problems:
I just checked with an old friend of theirs and the word is he is in the process of selling the business / patents and is no longer making lights until the sale/purchase is complete.
He sure is hurting the business' value in the interim.

I have the BMW LED light, that fits under the plate, like your second posting from the MAX BMW site, adds a lot of light/visibility to the single tail light of my R1100RT.
I like the 4 quick flashes it gives when the brakes are activated.

I guess I got lucky since I received mine two weeks ago and am very happy with it - it did take a while to get but they didn't charge my credit card until they shipped it.
Too bad, I would have dealt with them again.....I wonder how much they want for the business - it seems like a great niche?
It must be pretty frustrating dealing with too-smart-for-their-own-good CANBus bikes - maybe that is why they are getting out.
Here is another option - http://www.nippynormans.com/products.asp?dept=263

Have you looked at tailBlazer? I have these bulbs on three of my bikes. Not LED but flash fast then slow.

They are still in buisness. Just got this email from them:
Hello George,
We are thriving, expanding, actually. Therefore, being extremely busy settling in and filling orders, we have been a bit on the slow side getting back to people. I must apologize for this, but I can assure you that we are definitely still in business!

I bought my 40 LED tail lite insert from them. Darn near 'plug-N-play'
for the install. It doesn't have the 'Disco-lite effect', but I dont cause cagers to have seizures, ether! $80.00 to my door and a HUGE difference in being seen!
I LOVE IT!

I live in Victoria and was in their shop this morning. I looks like they are just moving in and getting set up. They told me they will be in full production shortly. There was not much stock on hand but will be as soon as production starts at the new location.

I have a R1150RT and a R1100GS and both bikes have the BMW rear brake light additon that mounts to license plate and hangs down with multiple LEDS that flash four times when you touch the brake quickly and then go on bright and solid until you release the brake . I have found that they are very visable and work very well and are very easy to install and most of all have the BMW quality to them I ordered it from my dealer ( Diable Kawasaki- BMW in Walnut Creek CA and it arrived two days later. Cost was about 139.00 and worth every penny. I alos have Kisan headlight modulators on both bikes as well as Auto turn signal cancel/ running lights. VEry happy with all products Dave

just today i was followed by a cop all the way to my house and told that with that flashy brake light, which is mounted on my rt/p, i was using emergency flashy lights and trying to impersonate a officer. So whats the scoop on that?what do the law books say about it?

GizmoMills.Com seems to be going through some changes. Not sure when they are going to be available again. I bought my last set for the RT & LT though BMW of Santa Cruz and HPTuning.Com. You can check with HPTuning.Com and see if he has any available.
As for the law, it depends on your state law. Look it up at teh DMV Vechicle Code. They are usually legal. Headlight modulators are legal in all fifty states (federal law), but I'm not 100% sure about brake light modulators. You could also check with SignalDynamics.Com for the law on brake modulators. They had a page on headlight ones, but an e-mail will usually provide an aswer as well.

Plug and play (replace bulb with LED panel - took 2 minutes to install), bright, lots of LED's, circuitry allows use with ABS. I have had one for several years. Love it. No fancy flashing sequence. They also make LED turn signals.
