I put a set on my K1 and really like them. A few have complained of a short life, but I have 3,200 miles on them and they seem to be wearing fine. I find them quiet , smooth, and predictable.

I've had very good luck with Avon rear tires (Azaro, Storm) but bad luck with fronts. Last year I had to send back a new Azaro front because of a vibration. This year I had to take off a new Storm front because of a head shake from 30-45 mph. In both cases the tires handled very well, but were defective. I now have a Storm rear tire with about 8,000 miles. It still looks great and rides great. It should go well over 12,000. The few times I've been in rain there were no surprises. The two Michelin Pilot Road fronts I had to put on for the Avons were perfect.
I've noticed on some internet message boards that problems with the front tire are well known. Even people who mentioned the head shake said they loved the tire in the twisties. I'm guessing Avon has quality control problems.
The Avon people were very good about returns.

I put Avon Storms on my R1200RT slightly over 2000 miles ago and I have no complaints. Very predictable handling and no vibration.

I put a set of Avon Storms on my 94 R1100RS, after 10 years of running with Bridgestones. So far I am really pleased. Waiting to see how well they do in the rain.
