I have a 91 K100lt I am considering converting to a naked bike. Any advice from someone who has done this would be appreciated.

I have not done that.
But why are you considering this? What are you looking for?
Maybe there is a better alternative out there?

I have a FJR1300 I use for touring. The LT has a cracked fairing and I kind of miss the old days of just the wind and bugs.

My K75 started out as a K75S for 50K miles, then had a K100RS fairing for another 36K until I had an accident. I put it back together as a standard because I couldn't really imagine I was going to keep the bike that much longer.
That was 105K miles ago. :laugh A naked K75 seems to be my ideal ride.

When I bought my K100RS in 2001, she wore a sexy Pichler Fairing. I managed to put her in a ditch a month or two later. The insurance company and my mechanic decided that finding a replacement fairing was going to be expensive and difficult, so the insurance adjustor waived the deductibale and Wilbur converted her to a standard (Nekkid) K100.
He removed the fairing and put on the turn signal/round headlight assembly and a radiator shroud. He put the round mirrors on the bars, too.
Later on I had him change the short RS bars for LT bars. I believe that all the cables fit OK. You shouldn't have to do that of course.
I added a National Cycles windshield after that, but it is really too short for me, but it does sort of finish off the look of the bike.
Although I didn't do the work, I do know that Wilbur found all the parts needed for the conversion.
I actually like her alot better this way than with the fairing.

It's easy. Just take off everything you don't need or want and revel in the freedom of knowing it's just one less screw or bolt to torque, silicon or lose.
I love my K100 naked!
