I recently moved to Johnson City, TN and am looking for a reliable shop to service my 2001 1150R.

BMW's site lists the closest options as Hickory, NC; Greenville, SC; Lenoir City, TN; Matthews, NC and Greensboro, NC.

I'm happy to make the trip to wherever I need to go. I'm more concerned about finding a shop with a good reputation than saving miles.

Thanks for your help.

Lenoir City is good, Greeneville South is too.

Wecome to the area. I'm about 65 miles from you between exit 47 and 50 on I-81 North. There's not many of us around here but most of us do our own servicing and order our parts from Hammersley in Lynchburg. The discount the parts and we have them in a day or two. One local rider bought a new RT a while back in Greenville, SC, totaled it on the way to the Rally in Asheville and bought another from them last week. They assured him that they would do his 600 mile service for him before he left for the MOA Rally next week (he's out riding now).

There are some excellent rides around here. If you haven't found them yet, try a couple such as Shady Valley, TN and Breaks Interstate Park in Dickenson County, VA. There are 4 of us who ride together here in Marion and since we are retired, we reserve Wednesdays to ride a few hundred miles. You're welcome to join us if you get a chance. A couple of the most dependable riders are going to the MOA Rally and then from ther they are going to ride to Alaska and back so they will be gone a while. We will resume our riding when they get back.

Thank you, gentlemen, for the info and the invitation to ride. I hadn't heard of those two locations but I'll look them up, and once we get settled maybe we can get in touch. Thanks, again.
