Engine swap

Does any one have any experience with putting a K1100 engine in an earlier K bike. eg: '95 engine into '87 frame. It seems to me there might be an electrical interface issue, and I wonder if this can be overcome. Thanks in advance for any insights.

An acquaintance and fellow MOA member put a K1100 engine in his 1985 K100. It works. His remarks were "This is the engine BMW should have put in th is bike." The bike has over 300,000 mile on the odometer.

Make sure you upgrade the braking system accordingly. :laugh
