Hi, Speedemon,
Everyone reading your post probably has opinions of what is good and what isn't and where to buy it. I have those opinions, too, and am not loath to share them. However, it would be nice to know which K-bike you have, since I know nothing about the new K-bikes and little about the K1200 in any iteration. I own a K1100LT and have had one since 1997, and my wife has a K75.

dam sorry about that i forgot the model. its a 85 k100. i would prefer to go for the best of the best. suck as k&N air filter and oil filter. the best lubes for each application. cost really isn't an issue.

I would stay away from K&N air filters. They pass a lot of dirt. Time and again, I have seen dust inside air passages that got by a K&N on an enduro bike or a 4WD.. And, no, they do not make any more power. They cannot, unless the paper element is really clogged. Gas engines do not lose power until around 20"H2O restriction, and even then, it is only at full throttle.

Air Filter and oil filters can be purchased from: www.beemerboneyard.com
Type and brand of oils is up to you.
Engine oil: 20W-50 is recommended by BMW
Tranny & final drive: Use GL5 rated gear lube.
I would also suggest checking and lubing the final drive splines. There is information on how to do this at: www.ibmwr.org/ktech.shtml
